A presentation Education for Sustainable Development in Europe: some current challenges was given to a conference organised by the Hellenic Association for the Protection of the Environment and Cultural Heritage, in Piraeus on April 1st 2005

 

Using the issue of corporate social responsibility, and the example of Nike, it outlines the nature of socially critical ESD and suggests how advances in critical pedagogy, suggested by consumer-media culture, might be used to engage school students with European law and its role in promoting more sustainable forms of production and consumption.
